One of my goals before the New Year starts is to experiment with a YouTube Shorts channel.
This is part of my effort to avoid the overwhelm and disappointment that can come with setting big, vague resolutions on January 1st.
My aim is to see if it’s still possible to reach YouTube’s monetization requirements for Shorts in 2025: 1,000 subscribers and 10 million views.
It’s an ambitious goal, but breaking it down into small, manageable steps feels more realistic than waiting until New Year’s to dive in.
Let’s be real, 10 million views is no joke. That’s like every person in New York City watching my videos… and then telling their friends. The stats sound impossible, BUT if it doesn’t work out, at least I’ll have a collection of videos to cringe at during the end of 2025.
The plan is simple: I’ll post 1–2 Shorts daily, track progress, and adjust as needed.
Whether or not this works out, I’ll learn something valuable about content creation and the platform’s current trends.
And if it does succeed, it could turn into a sustainable side hustle.
By starting now, I’m giving myself time to experiment without pressure.
This isn’t about perfection or overnight success—it’s about starting and seeing where it goes. I’m excited to see how things will go in a year.
Stay tuned.
